The condensing combi boiler is the choice for medium to small size households as there is no need for a water tank. A condensing boiler is at least 88% efficient (converts 88% of the fuel into heat) compared to a normal combi boiler which is around 72% efficient. Condensing boilers are able to regulate their output temperature rather than switch itself on and off like normal boilers to keep your home at a constant temperature. Both these features serve to reduce your heating bills. The savings can be anywhere from £70 to £235 per year on a conventional boiler depending on the age according to the Energy Saving Trust.
